Are You A Democrat/Republican/Neutral: Does It Really Matter?

do actions speak louder than words? Or Do words speak louder than actions? these are the questions.

I usually don’t state my opinion on political manners because I let my actions, for those that are dear and close to me know this, to speak for themselves. Given the social stressful political events that have occurred thus far; I realized there are a lot of berating going on between two opposing sides.

I think of it this way; when a persons’ actions don’t match up with what their saying I tune them out. It’s difficult to judge people over the screen though, especially if you’re not familiar with the person in person. I wonder if that’s why I fall in love with actor/ess that play their character so well that I believe their fictional sacrifice to save the human race?

Arnold in Last Action Hero

Take for example Arnold Schwarzenegger, I absolutely love the dude. I’ve grown up with his movies (Terminator, Predator, Last Action Hero, Jungle All the Way the list goes on). He’s a well known Republican. But am I going to stop watching his movies because of the fact that his views are different from mine?

No, he’s a great actor and thats what he does, he entertains his audience. When he makes speeches for college graduates that I’ve listened to through the convenience of the inter-webs, they’re really powerful. His story is inspiring.

And that’s the point, every one person that you grew up hating has a story and a reason for why they believe the things they believe.

Comment down below, if you’ve ever been wrong about someone you once grew up hating and what was their story?

Whether right or wrong there is no one right answer.

It’s rather grey and muddy. After the elections and said President was announced everyone was belittling and pointing the finger at the ‘antagonist’ of this story. We should be calling for change, a radical change, in the way we perceive the enemy. And to be honest, who is the enemy?

Are we any different?

What people need to stop doing is insulting/pointing the finger at a past that can’t be changed and instead rally against what could be done now. That’s banding together and not separating “them” from “us.” We should be striving to push each and every one of us forward.

Rather than be indifferent to those that oppose our views, we should have an open dialogue. Get rid of  labels categorizing people on the “do not speak to them because they don’t see how I look at the world” group in our minds. Look at it instead, as a potential mind you can one day hope to change the way they see the world and vice verse. Which is far more rewarding then exiling them completely. Remember there is strength in numbers and unity in love.

Help to loosen their blindfolds, not knot it tighter…with labels and insults.
